GAIL PEDERSON
CHAIR OF VOLUNTEERS
Gail A. Pederson is a wife, mother, friend, nurse, certified pediatric nurse practitioner, Ph.D. and native Californian who now resides in Virginia. She has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 35 years. She has four children: Katie, Christopher, Keith and Kyle.

Gail earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from San Jose State University. She was a hospital nurse for ten years. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the California State University, Long Beach. She worked as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in private practice for two years and at Kaiser Pemenente for seven years, providing well and sick child exams, health counseling and mentored nurse practitioner and medical students from local universities.

The Pedersons moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1998. She began doctoral study at the University of Cincinnati. The family moved to Virginia in 2005. Gail earned her Ph.D. in Graduate Studies in 2012.
She is a Fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and member of Sigma Theta Tau International honor society of nursing.

Gail has served as a board member of W+WinGS since 2014. She is an officer for the local chapter of PEO, a philanthropic organization that supports women in educational endeavors. Current activities include working with a trainer, walking with friends, Bible study, attending church and Mah Jongg. As a new “empty nester”, she plans to return to pre-kid hobbies, including piano, sewing, reading and golf. Her greatest joy is spending time with family and friends.
